I flew out to Las Vegas to photograph Golden State Warrior and 2015 NBA Champ, Harrison Barnes as he went through his intense off-season workout.
Summer 2015 has been one of the busiest in recent memory and I have adidas Uprising to thank for most of it. I've been the adidas social media photographer for three camps/tournaments in Dallas, Indianapolis and Long Beach, California, photographing some of the best high school basketball players in the country. My images have been featured on the adidas Uprising and adidas Hoops Instagram and Facebook pages, and on the adidas Uprising homepage. It's been great getting to know the adidas grassroots team and players this summer! More to come!
Some work from the Innovation Issue of Edible Magazine. I shot Heritage Radio director Erin Fairbanks in Bushwick. Heritage is leading the way in a new wave of internet radio and podcasts. Their headquarters are in a transformed shipping container attached to Roberta's Pizza. Portraits and pizza? Not a bad afternoon.
I was hired by Ebony Magazine to shoot some behind-the-scenes images of the May cover shoot with Wendy Williams. It was a fun and crowded day, with multiple hair stylists, wardrobe stylists, video & photography crews, and Wendy Williams' own entourage on set. It was amazing to watch celebrity photographer, George Holz and his crew work through several lighting and location challenges, and come away with a great cover. Enjoy a few more from the day:
Portrait of Lauren
When I moved to NYC back in 2012, Danny was one of the first people I ever photographed. At the time, he was a recent graduate from NYU, music producer, and in the very early stages of his own journey as an artist. Fast forward to 2015 and Danny is now DB2, successful musician, singer, and artist carving his own lane in the r&b world. It's been amazing to see him grow into his own, and I'm thankful we've been able to collaborate along the way. Check out DB2's soundcloud page, and his kick-ass instagram account as well. This kid can fly.
Last month, the city was buzzing as athletes, celebs, and "influencers" of all kinds, arrived for the NBA's All Star Weekend and NYC Fashion Week. I found myself on the All Star side of things, shooting for adidas along side fellow shooters and friends, Kelly Kline and Emily Ramsier. Kelly and Emily just opened up a new studio in my old stomping grounds of Atlanta, GA. It was great to see them again and work together. I was also working with NYC photographer, Michel Leroy who was taking some awesome portraits throughout the weekend. It was a solid All Star crew!
I spent most of the weekend in the adidas VIP media suite in Soho, photographing musicians, artists, and even some ESPN anchors as they got a first glimpse at adidas' new apparel and footwear. Some were even lucky enough to walk away with their own exclusive adidas gear:
When I wasn't in the suite, I was shooting around the city at player appearances like this one with the Portland Trail Blazer's Damian Lillard:
It was a crazy weekend, but so fun to work with such a great team of photographers. Here was our group photo taken on Michel's set at the end of the last day. Hopefully I see this crew next year in Toronto :)
Some new portraits from an ongoing series about anxiety, change, and reflection...
We are all in flux, all changing, and always moving forward. More to come :)
NYC got a slight dusting from snowstorm Juno last weekend. It wasn't quite the "blizzard" that was forecast, but the travel ban and trains being down still made for a couple of fun and quiet walks into the city.
My final shoot for 2014 was a musical two days with the incredible artists of Jazz at Lincoln Center. I'm still working on editing images, but here are some great behind-the-scenes photos and videos shot by my wonderful producer, Madison Salavec. Enjoy, stay tuned for more photos from this and a few other projects I'm working on, and have a happy and safe new year! Here's to more adventures in 2015 :)
The Brooklyn Nets kicked off the 2014-2015 season at the beginning of November, and I've been busy almost every week (and some weekends) since, shooting home games and events for the marketing and entertainment departments. Here are some of my favorite images from the season so far...
Some recent work for the USO!
Service members, veterans, volunteers, Yankee staff, and even Joe Girardi himself attend the 2014 Veterans Day Service event held at Yankee Stadium. Participants lined up to make care packages that will be shipped by the USO to troops serving in remote units throughout Afghanistan.
Tonight is the regular season home opener for the Brooklyn Nets, which means I'll be spending a lot of time at The Barclays Center in the coming weeks. Season tickets court side? Close! I'm working with the Nets' entertainment and marketing departments to capture new images in and around Barclays. These are fun, hectic nights and I definitely get my cardio in dashing around the arena getting the shots I need. Looking forward to the start of another season! Go Nets!
Some images from the first two pre-season games...
One of my grizzly bear images from the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo was included in Feature Shoot's latest post about zoo's from around the world. Pretty cool!
A few more from that day...
Last weekend I took a trip out to Mountainville, NY with some friends to visit the Storm King Art Center. I had seen so many incredible photos from friends over the summer, that I had to check it out myself.
The first in a small series of portraits I'm working on.
